    Where this information comes from

OpenStreetMap: map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Only places mapped with truck evidence are listed. How we selected them: Geofabrik U.S. state extracts, filtered with osmium tags-filter (amenity=fuel, highway=rest_area|services, hgv, capacity:hgv). Kept: fuel stations tagged hgv=yes/designated, fuel:HGV_diesel=yes, capacity:hgv>0, a known truck-stop chain brand, or a truck-stop/travel-center name; rest areas/services and parking tagged hgv=yes/designated/only or capacity:hgv>0. Dropped: access=private/no or hgv=no.

FHWA: Truck Stop Parking, National Transportation Atlas Database (USDOT/BTS), from the Federal Highway Administration's Jason's Law truck-parking survey compiled April 9, 2019. U.S. government work, public domain. This is historical information: its space counts were recorded in 2019 and are not current availability.

The two sources are listed side by side and never combined. A place may appear once from each source. Places can close or change — confirm before you go.
